Shaan I. Memon is a multi-award-winning filmmaker, writer, director, and editor with over 17 years of experience crafting cinematic and high-impact video content.

 

Born in Ahmedabad, India, to a geography lecturer and a fashion designer, he developed an early passion for storytelling and music, drawing inspiration from filmmakers such as George Lucas, Raj Kapoor, Vijay Anand, Hayao Miyazaki, and Akira Kurosawa.

He earned a B.Des in Film & Video Design from MIT Institute of Design, Pune, and an MFA in Motion Pictures & Television from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Since beginning his professional career in 2009, Shaan has worked across feature films, short films, documentaries, trailers, music videos, commercials, tech reviews, educational content, news, and social media.

His work has been recognized with a Remi Award at WorldFest-Houston, multiple screenplay awards, and nominations at international festivals. He has also served as a judge at the Oscar-qualifying Raw Science Film Festival, co-judging alongside Nobel Laureate Kip Thorne.
